Child Watch / Youth Center Staff

Part-time evenings (2-3 days per week) 

Position Summary: Supervises and engages with youth ages 3 months to 14 years in either the Child Watch or Youth Center areas. Implements program curriculum and engages with youth through arts, crafts, physical activity and free play. Provides a quality experience to children and parents that focuses on the Y’s core values: caring, honesty, respect and responsibility. Additional opportunities include planning and implementing new youth programming.

Essential Functions:

1. Implements daily lesson/activity plans
2.
Builds relationships with youth and families that will deepen their connection to the Y
3.
Supervises children, classroom and all activities
4.
Maintains program space and equipment
5. May m
aintain required program records
6.
Assists with special events
7.
Attends and participates in family nights, program activities, staff meetings and staff training

Qualifications:

1. High School Diploma or GED preferred
2.
At least 18 years of age
3.
CPR, First Aid, AED certifications and Child Abuse prevention training within 60 days of hire date
4. Previous experience working with children in a developmental setting preferred
5.
Ability to implement age-appropriate/developmentally appropriate program activities
6.
Previous experience with diverse populations

Physical Demands:

1. Ability to plan, lead and participate in activities
2.
Ability to lift 50 pounds
3.
Basic swimming ability preferred
