Position Summary:
Delivers excellent service to all members, guests and program participants. Responds to member and guest needs while promoting the organization’s cause, programs and perks of membership. Maintains cleanliness and organization of the lobby and other common areas. Facilitates tours, processes membership and program registrations and answers phone calls.

Essential Functions:

1. Provide excellent service to members, guests and program participants at the Y and on the phone, contributing to a great reputation and retention
2. Interview and/or tour prospective members; sells memberships
3. Build relationships with members; help members connect with one another and to the Y
4. Handle and resolve membership concerns and inform supervisor of unusual situations or unresolved issues
5. Apply all Y policies dealing with member services
6. Accurately process membership and program registrations
7. Collect, launder and fold linens to ensure members and guests have clean sweat towels/bath towels at all times
8. May hand out towels; may monitor the locker rooms as required
9. Attend and participate in staff meetings and trainings
10. Perform opening/closing shift procedures as appropriate
11. Maintain a neat, clean, well-organized work area and front desk presence
12. Participate in off-site fairs and events to further membership
13. Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

1. Certifications required within 60 days of hire: CPR/AED and First Aid
2. Excellent interpersonal and problem solving skills
3. Ability to connect with people of diverse backgrounds
4. Previous customer service, sales or related experience
5. Basic knowledge of computers
6. High School Diploma or GED preferred
7. Must be at least 18 years of age
