Required Education Level: College Junior or Senior working towards Sports Administration, Athletic Training, Exercise Science or related degrees

Required Commitment: 200 – 600 hours

Compensation: Unpaid

Position Description:
The sports and recreation intern will experience applicable seasonal sports programming at the Y, assist with Playerspace, aid in volunteer coach practices and work on a special project determined by intern supervisor.

Skills and Qualifications:
The YMCA intern must possess good communications skills (both oral and written) and should have an ability to set priorities, manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines. The YMCA intern must have the ability to relate to staff in a positive, professional manner. He or she must also exhibit the core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility in all aspects of his or her work with the Y.

Perform duties for the YMCA as assigned

Uphold and exemplify the principles of the YMCA, including caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility. Responsible for strict adherence to all YMCA policies and procedures related to safety and conduct rules and other regulations
