“R30” Spin Class Packs An Hour Worth of Work into 30 Minutes
Rolling out this week, R30 is an “in-and-out, calorie-burning, quick and intense 30-minute workout with upbeat music,” according to Wellness Coach and class instructor Jill Becker.
She’s not wrong. R30, the Y’s newest Body Training Systems-licensed group fitness class, packs 60 minutes of cardio into a half hour and it’s as easy as riding a bike!
In addition to burning calories, R30 helps improve muscular endurance and builds cardio fitness as riders surge through short race intervals and power up hills.
The class is currently offered Tuesdays at 5:45 PM, Thursdays at 6:30 PM and Fridays at 8:15 AM at the Y.
R30 joins the hour-long Group Ride in the cycling class lineup. In addition, the Y also offers members a variety of other free BTS classes: Group Active (cardio, strength and flexibility all-in-one), Group Centergy (yoga / Pilates combo), Group Groove (urban dance), Group Kick (kickboxing / Muay Thai cardio), Group Power (weight training) and Group Step (cardio aerobics).
