Protein Box Distribution
While COVID-19 has challenged us all in unique ways, it has also reinforced the value of the roles we each play to care for our local communities.
With the help from our friends at Tyson Fresh Meats Team and the Food Bank of Siouxland, Inc. we will be offering FREE protein at the YMCA this Thursday August 6th, 2020 at 12:00pm. One box of protein will be distributed per vehicle, while supplies last.
While we know our community is excited for this event, please understand that it is essential that vehicles do not arrive prior to start time. Arriving at 12:00PM to line up for your protein box will help with the flow of traffic for our YMCA members and Summer Care families.
WHAT TO EXPECT:
Vehicles can start lining up at 12:00PM on Thursday August 6th, 2020. Vehicles will be turned away if they arrive before the event start time.
Follow the signs near the entrance to the Norm Waitt Sr. YMCA main parking lot in order to be in the correct line of traffic to wait in line for your protein box.
Staff and volunteers will be assisting with directing traffic.
No appointment is needed.
All that we ask is that for everyone’s safety, that you stay in your vehicles and follow directions from staff directing traffic and distributing the protein boxes to each vehicle.
Important Reminder: One box of protein can be distributed per vehicle. Please understand that staff and volunteers will only place one box of protein per vehicle, even if there are two separate households in the vehicle. The protein boxes often contain 20+ pounds of meat.
