2nd Annual Halloween Spooktacular Plans Great Family Fun
Why limit Halloween to one day? The Norm Waitt Sr. YMCA and Sioux City Parks & Rec are teaming up to give families a free Halloween event Saturday, October 24.
The 2nd annual Halloween Spooktacular will take place from 2:00 – 4:00 PM at the Long Lines Family Rec Center (401 Gordon Drive, Sioux City) and feature family-oriented festivities including bounce houses, carnival games, open climbing wall*, face painting, tricks, treats and more!
“Recognizing a community need, we definitely wanted to make this a yearly event. With over 1,500 attending last year, we knew it was an instant hit. And after seeing how much fun all the kids and families were having, the Spooktacular had to come back – bigger and better!” said Corrin Mikkelson, YMCA Youth Development Coordinator. “So everyone is invited to put on their best costume – kids and adults – and join us for a frightfully fun afternoon.”
The event is free and open to the public.
The Y is also looking for volunteers to be part of the fun. E-mail Bea for details.

(* Climbing wall will be available to sign up for in half hour time slots. All climbers must sign a waiver prior to climbing; a parent/guardian must sign for anyone under 18 years old.)
>>Community members can also recycle their lightly used, outgrown Halloween costumes at the Y. All donated costumes will then be for sale in the Y lobby.
