Starting September, 28th the Norm Waitt Sr. YMCA will be offering Group Exercise classes at the Onawa Community Center!

Initially, we will be offering six group exercise classes lead by trained YMCA instructors to the Onawa Community. Try one class or try them all, this first month of classes will be free of charge!

Program Details:

Program Dates: Classes start on September 28th, 2020

Program Location: Onawa Community Center

Program Fees: FREE for the month of October (Fees begin in November)

Details: These Group Exercise programs are run through the YMCA, therefore we ask that you comply with our current guidelines regarding COVID – 19. As a part of our current phased approach to re-opening we are in Phase 3.

As a part of Phase 3, we are asking members and guests to please wear a mask when entering the Community Center and while getting ready for your class to begin. Once the class starts, you may remove your mask and enjoy the class but please re-apply your mask when the class is over and while exiting the facility.

The safety of you, the Onawa community, and our staff is our top priority, please do your part to help stop the spread!

Class Offerings:

TABATA: Pack an intense workout in with quick and exciting 20-45 second intervals that focus on cardio and strength!

STRENGTH & CONDITIONING: Circuit Training program where participants will rotate through a variety of cardio and strength based stations for a total body workout!

SILVER SNEAKERS: Move at your own pace to the music and increase muscular strength, balance, range of movement, and activities for daily living.

GROUP ACTIVE: Group Active is a simple and athletic program drawing from all four elements of fitness: cardio, strength, balance, and flexibility.

CARDIO DANCE: This upbeat cardio class uses easy-to-follow moves combining fast and slow rhythms to tone your body while burning fat.
