Making Strides (MS)
Multiple Sclerosis (or MS) is a chronic, often disabling disease that attacks the central nervous system. The progress, severity and specific symptoms of MS are unpredictable and vary from one person to another. Today, new treatments and advances in research are giving new hope to people affected by the disease.
Our MS exercise program, Making Strides, focuses on function and is designed to help improve or maintain physical ability effectively and safely. Our trained Wellness Coaches concentrate on your overall fitness and energy management, while addressing problems with accessibility, mobility, muscle memory and other cognitive functions.
Managing MS is an ongoing process and exercise is an important component at all stages of the disease. Making Strides addresses the unique needs of people living with MS and focuses on seated stretching, balance, strength building, flexibility and is structured for those who may require more assistance.
WHEN: Tuesday/Thursday 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM
COST: $5/class or $50 (10 class) punch cards available at the front desk
Notes: Cards can be used for any Making Strides class and expire one year from the date of purchase. There is an opportunity to qualify for program financial assistance through the MS Society. DTD class has scheduled periodic breaks throughout the year when no class will be held.
