The Y Hosts Healthy Kids Day April 30

Healthy Kids Day Urges Youth & Families To Stay Active All Summer

hkd-logo-greenThe Y is throwing a free party to jump into summer and we want you there!

The Norm Waitt Sr. YMCA’s is leading the effort to give all kids and families a more active and fun summer by hosting Healthy Kids Day® on Saturday, April 30 from 12:00 – 3:00 PM at the Y (NEW LOCATION).

Healthy Kids Day is a free, community event open to the public. Families will not only have a fun-filled day but gain info, ideas & inspiration on how to get outside, be healthy and stay active all summer.

Scheduled activities include bounce houses, human foosball, obstacle courses, sports challenges, life-size games, field day activities and much more!

“The goal of Healthy Kids Day is to give all children a chance to get up, get out and grow,” said Corrin Mikkelson, Youth Development & Y Summer Camp Director at the Y. “But for many, exposure to structured activities that stimulate the body and mind ends with the school year. In fact, research shows that kids gain more weight and fall behind in school over the summer. So we’re hosting Healthy Kids Day to show kids the many exciting opportunities they have to get involved and stay active!”
