QUALITY OF LIFE
“I come to the Y because it is one thing I’m still capable of doing and I want to use my time productively to better my quality of life of me and my family.
Throughout the last 14 years [since my Parkinson’s Disease diagnosis], there have been many ups and downs and my life is not what I expected. I figured I would retire at a normal age [instead of 48] and live to be a grand old age of 100, with generally good health…
My one fear is the uncertainty of this disease and its progression – and what that means for my family and our future.
I will do whatever I can to maintain my quality of life with Parkinson’s Disease. A huge part of that is the YMCA where I feel welcome and have a safe place to exercise – especially with the other participants in the Delay the Disease program.” -David
